John A. Rice "JR" 58, of Elyria entered Heaven on Sunday February 21, 2016 at his home. He was born October 19, 1957 in Lorain, OH. John was an Elyria High School graduate, and honorably served in the U.S. Army. John held numerous jobs over the years, and was able to make a living creating custom jewelry; he truly enjoyed working with his hands. The joy of John's life was spending time with his grandson. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and flea markets. Survivors include two daughters; Megan A. Rice ( his caregiver) and Katelyn P. Rice both of Lorain, a grandson; Michael S. Romero of Lorain. Additional survivors include his mother; Bonnie J. Rice (nee: Wyne) of TX, a sister; Claudette "Missy" Mitchell (Mitch) of Columbia Station, and three brothers; Danny of TX, Bernie and Jamie both of Elyria, and his ex wife of twenty five years; Andrea Sandoval of Lorain. John was preceded in death by his father; Denver Rice. A Celebration of John's life will be held at a later date.
