John W. Pojman, 77, of Columbia Station passed away Wednesday September 25, 2019 at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights following a brief illness. He was born December 18, 1941 in Parma and was a Columbia Station resident for most of his life. John was the owner of Pojman Heating and Air Conditioning, a United States Air Force veteran, and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Columbia Station. John was a former Columbia Township Trustee, served on the Columbia Township Fire Department for 30 years, retiring as a Captain and was a founding member of the Columbia Township Rescue Squad. Survivors include his daughter, Pamela (Tye) Loy; sons, John R. (Natasha) Pojman and Joseph (Renee) Pojman; step-sons, Steve and Gerald Cahill; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Adams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette and a sister, Joanne Jennings. The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday September 30, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church 25801 Royalton Rd. ( State Rt. 82), Columbia Township. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. The Rev. Fr. Edward Holland, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Columbia Cemetery, Columbia Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Hinkson-Hysell V.F.W.
