John F. McKenna, 81, of Elyria passed away Tuesday September 24, 2013 at his home following a long illness. He was born August 24, 1932 in Manhattan, NY. And was a Elyria resident since 1966. John was a English professor at Lorain County Community College for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of the United States Army and he enjoyed photography, bicycling and watching old movies. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sylvia (nee-Knouse); daughters, Mary Morog of Birmingham, OH., Kathleen Bolam of Rochester, NY., and Sean Cunningham of Hanover, MD.; son, John McKenna of Medina; grandchildren, Dustin, Kyle, Connor, Aiden and Lily; sister, Irene Ennis of Sarasota, FL.; brother, William McKenna of Sarasota, FL..
