John Dale "JD" Eischen 77, of Elyria passed away on Friday March 31, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice following a long illness. He was born September 1, 1939 in Elyria and was a 1958 Elyria Catholic High School graduate. JD served in the US. Army, and The Ohio Army National Guard. He retired from Invacare following forty two years of service where he had been Plant Manager and a tool and die maker. JD was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church, American Legion Post#12; he coached Little League West baseball, and enjoyed working with his hands. Survivors include his wife and the love of his life of fifty four years; Peggy A. (nee: Pavlish), two sons; David J. (JoAnn) of Amherst, Jeffery J. (Jill) of Alpharetta, GA., two grandchildren; Erika and Emily, and a sister; Dian of FL. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Monday April 3, 2017 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Tuesday April 4, 2017 at St. Vincent DePaul Church 41295 North Ridge Rd. Elyria, OH 44035 where the family will also receive friends from 9:00 AM Tuesday until Mass at 10:00 AM. Reverend Father David H. Dunson will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria where V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors.
