John L. Haupt 89 of Grafton passed away Monday October 13, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 12, 1925 in Paxinos, Pennsylvania and lived in Grafton for the past 50 years. John enjoyed gardening ,baking , games , crossword puzzles and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Sunbury American Legion for 66 years, and held the position of Noble Grand at Odd Fellows Lodge. John was honorably discharged from the Army after serving as a medic during WWII. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Ruth (nee Deivert) , daughters Doris (Bill) Duceman of Pennsylvania , and Sandy Szuch of Grafton , son Neil (Lori Hahn) of Elyria . 8 grandchildren Lisa ,Becky (Marty) Perry, Mike ,Zack ,Iain, Heather ,Amanda ,and Molly, great-granddaughter Avah..4 sisters Bette and Mary of Ohio , Jane and Flora of Pennsylvania. John was preceded in death by his daughter Jean , grandson Lawrence Jr. , brothers Ken and Ralph and sister Helen.
