John E. Dunn, 78, of Elyria passed away Saturday July 25, 2015 at UH EMH Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born September 15, 1936 in Piqua, OH. And was a Lorain County resident for most of his life. John worked as a manufacturing engineer at the Nordson Corporation in Amherst for many years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the LaPorte United Methodist Church where is was a active member of the choir for many years. An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Oberlin Golf Club and attended the 2014 Master's Golf Tournament. He also enjoyed reading. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley (nee-Hoover); daughters, Cindy Dunn of Leadville, CO., and Denise Williams of Evans, GA.; son Michael Dunn of Fairview Park; grandchildren, Megan, Marisa and Alexander; sister, Judy Dunn of Bradenton, FL.. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Pihera. All services will be private.
