John Thomas Dodd, formerly of North Olmsted and North Ridgeville, died peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022 at LifeCare in Wooster. He was 93 years of age.

John was born on July 22, 1929 in Cleveland, OH to Helen (Eichorn) and Stephen Dodd. He graduated from Bay High School in Bay Village, Ohio in 1947. He earned his Bachelor's degree from John Carroll University in 1955. His education was interrupted for two years by his service in the United States Army during the Korean War.

On October 15, 1955, he married Joylyn Ann Winter. John worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. for 37 years as a customer service manager and buyer. After  retirement John and Joylyn relocated to Sun City Hilton Head and enjoyed traveling, square dancing, biking, and all the low country of South Carolina had to offer before returning to Ohio to be near family. He was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

John will be remembered for his humble, warmhearted nature and for his love of God. He was devoted to his family and was a good listener. He enjoyed many active and healthy years during his retirement with his wife of 65 years.

John is survived by his five children, John G. (Ilona) Dodd of North Ridgeville, Jeffrey G. Dodd of Strongsville, Karen A. Lippert of Las Vegas, NV, Susan D. (David) Hendrickson of North Ridgeville, and Beth A. (Michael) Miller of Wooster. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew Dodd, Andrew Dodd, Zachary Dodd, Claire Miller, Lauren Miller, Holly Miller and Oliver Miller, great-grandchildren, Zoë  and Ryder Dodd. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joylyn, his parents, brothers, Stephen Dodd, James Dodd, and Rev. Anthony Dodd, daughter-in-law, Susan L. Dodd, and son-in-law, George C. Lippert. His family will hold a private funeral Mass at St. Mary Church in Elyria, and he will be buried at St. Mary Church in Avon.
