John W. Davis, 70, of Elyria passed away Thursday February 9, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic Avon Campus following a brief illness. He was born May 31, 1946 in Logan, WV. And was an Elyria resident for most of his life. John was United States Navy veteran, having served 2 tours of duty in Viet Nam. He was employed by the Corrpro Company, doing water tower construction and formerly worked as a sales representative for 30 years. John was a member of the Washington Avenue Christian Church where he served on the Diaconate and provided care in the toddler room. He also served as a Director of the Elyria Crop Walk for Hunger. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Karen, (nee-Palicka); daughters, Danielle (Brian) Quinones and Nicole Davis; grandchildren, Dylan and Ethan Quinones; sisters, Carol Harvey, Sherry Gerrek, and Denise Tucker; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances Davis and a brother, Charles. There will be a memorial service on Saturday February 18, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Washington Avenue Christian Church 301 Washington Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Brad Donahue will Officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services in the parlor of the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Washington Avenue Christian Church.
