Obituary

John F. Dague 76, of Carlisle Township passed away Sunday April 13, 2025, at the home his parents built where he lived all his life following a short illness. He was born December 23, 1948, in Elyria. John was a 1966 Midview High School graduate. He served in Vietnam with the United Sates Marine Corp. John had worked for several concrete companies and was considered a 20th century MacGyver that he enjoyed tinkering, helping family and friends with various projects. Survivors include his wife of forty-five years; Natalie R. (nee: Mrdenovich)whom he had been with for fifty-five years and married on April 21, 1980. Brother-in-law of; Peter J. Mrdenovich (Mirta) of Amherst, a niece; Michelle Hill (Shawn), a nephew; Michael Mrdenovich, three great nephews, a cousin; Judy R. Bobel, of Saba and several cousins from Jeromesville, and was a special friend to many. John was preceded in death by his parents; Byron B. and Donna R. (nee: Stegman) Dague, and a brother; Larry S. Dague. Funeral services were private and performed by Pastor Todd Rainey. Burial was at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio where the United States Marine Corp. provided full military honors. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home of Elyria (440)322-4626.
