John J. Brock,77, of Avon Lake formerly of Lakewood passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at Story Point Independence Village in Avon Lake. He was born April 5, 1943 in Malden, MA. John was a loving husband and father, where family and faith were central in his life. He had a strong Catholic faith: active member of several parishes over the years in Cleveland and Lakewood, serving as a catechism teacher, committee member, lector, choir member, Eucharistic minister, and home visitor to the sick. John was a lifelong learner, who was fascinated and curious, he followed sports, politics, world news, and comics, enjoyed reading, languages, and being outdoors. John had a lively sense of humor and a hearty laugh .He was an international business consultant. John was an Alumnus of Boston College, Harvard as a Woodrow Wilson fellow, University of Michigan and Cleveland State University. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Dorothy (nee Basinski); daughter Carrie Damon (Brock); close extended family and friends, including in laws, cousins in the greater Boston area, and son-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret Brock (nee Crowe). Burial Private. A memorial mass/celebration of life at a later date to be determined.
