John "Mike" Brant, 78, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Fairview Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Cleveland on March 9, 1946 to parents Jack and Norma (nee: Herbster) Brant.  Those that knew Mike will remember and miss his great sense of humor. Survivors include his daughter, Bethann (Randy) Mondry; son, John, grandchildren, Joseph (Amber Markley); Justin and Abby Mondry; great-granddaughter, Ava; sister, Sandra MacAvoy; brother, Jerry; numerous nieces and nephews, and a friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane (nee: Jason); brother, Jeffry Sr. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 5 PM until the time of service at 7 PM at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria 440-322-4626. A private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted at a later date.
