IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Glen
Bohanon
February 27, 1942 – August 17, 2024
John Glen Bohanon, 82, passed away August 17, 2024 in hospital hospice care. Born in Ohio, he was raised in Crossville, Tennessee and Columbia Station, Ohio. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, sailing around the world and sitting watch on the shores of Vietnam. Upon discharge, he worked at various jobs including the tank plant on Brook Park in Cleveland, and eventually retiring from the U.S. Postal Service, Elyria branch in 2007.
His sister June introduced him to Eileen & it was love at first sight. They married two weeks after their first date and were together for almost 57 years. He used to say he married not only a wife, but her two children as well. Glen, as his family called him, was a huge Johnny Cash fan, and Willie Nelson was a close second. He would often get up in the middle of the night to play guitar & sing loud enough to wake his wife. She would respond with "Are you all right? I heard you moaning". There were more laughs than tears as the years sped by, and he will be missed by us all.
Glen is survived by his wife Eileen, sons John Lee Bohanon and Kerry Broschk (wife Michelle), daughter Margie Broschk Walker, grandchildren Bill Broschk (wife Lauren), Alyson Broschk, Valeri Broschk, Colten Raymond, and Justin Walker, great grandchildren Lincoln Broschk, Lilia Walker, Lexi Walker & Jax Walker, and brother David (wife Peg) , and his dog, Sam. Preceding him in death were five brothers, one sister, and grandson Ryan Cory Walker.
There will be no visitation, but please listen to some Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson, have a cup of coffee, and make a pot of ham & beans, & cornbread in his memory.
Donations to honor Glen's memory may be made to Friendship Animal Protective League 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.laubenthalmercado.com. Arrangements entrusted to Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home in Elyria.
