JoAnne M. Plas, (nee-Myers), 83, of Elyria passed away peacefully at her home on Monday December 3, 2018. She was born October 24, 1935 in Cleveland and was a Elyria resident for most of her life. JoAnne worked as a Deputy Clerk at the Elyria Municipal Courts, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Alter and Rosary Society of the church. She was also a member American Legion Post 12 Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W. Post 1079 Ladies Auxiliary and the Elyria united Polish Club Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, John "Jack"; daughters, Barbara Allman, Deborah (Robert) Gray and Jane (Scott) Shubert; son, Don (Kelly) Plas; grandchildren, Melissa (Michael), Matthew (Sarah), David, Elizabeth, John, Joshua, Kay-La and Alea; great-grandchildren, Regan and Brooklyn. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Allman and a brother, John Myers. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday December 7, 2018 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant.
