Joann M. Polacsek 65, of Elyria passed away Tuesday March 21, 2023 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a brief illness.  She was born February 5, 1958 in Elyria.  Survivors include her son; Wanji Chance Running Horse of Elyria, three grandchildren; Wicahpi, Wiyaka, Mahpiya Running Horse, additional survivors include two sisters; Sara Bonilla (Ruben) of Fairfax, VA., Barbara Bright of Elyria, two brothers; John (Martha) of Detroit, MI., David (Gayle) of Wellington.  Joann was preceded in death by her parents; John Alfred and Irene Rose (nee: Solet) Polacsek, and niece, Carri Bright.  A Celebration of Joann's life will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4 PM – 7 PM at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd (State Rt 57) in Elyria. The celebration of Joann's life will be held together at the same time with her niece, Carri Bright.
