Jerry W. Simmons Sr. 84, of Elyria passed away July 13, 2017 in Ocala , Florida. He was born July 10, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio. Jerry was married on March 14, 1954, to the love of his life, Lorene Brown. Together they were blessed with three sons and a daughter. He was a member of American Legion post # 12 for 53 years, Eagles 431, Moose Lodge 1199, VFW post 4493 and was a Boy Scout Master. Jerry proudly served his Country in the Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing, cooking, traveling and woodworking, and especially his family. Survivors include his daughter Sherrie (Frank) Rybarcyk of Elyria; sons Jerry Simmons Jr. of Vero Beach, Florida, James (Karen) Simmons of Sullivan, Ohio, and Joseph (Susan) Simmons of Elyria; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Wife Lorene ( nee Brown) in 2002; parents Michael and Eleanor Simmons (Nee Lemle); sister Margaret Agard in 2011. All services are private.
