Jerrold Winger passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and family by his side, on Sunday September 30, 2012. He was born November 4, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio. Jerrold was an accomplished and highly respected chemical engineer for the Energizer Battery Company and retired as the Director of Technology. He culminated a very distinguished forty-year career by receiving the highly coveted, "Excellence in Engineering Award". In retirement, Jerrold continued to stay active by authoring many books on topics ranging from Investing to Science and Religion, with his final book being a science fiction story. When he wasn't writing he enjoyed hobbies that included fishing, painting, genealogy, and mostly gardening. He often created showpiece worthy gardens. Jerrold's favorite times were the times he spent enjoying the company of his wife and his family. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends. Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Sallie (nee Fishman) of Grafton, son Gregory (MaryAnn) Winger of Avon, Ohio; daughter Heidi Winger (Wayne Humphrey) of Tucson, AZ; son Mark Winger of Illinois; eight grandchildren; a twin brother, who Jerrold often called his lifelong best friend, Norman Winger (Harriet) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister Molly Berger of Cleveland; brother Neil Winger (Jane) of Cleveland, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and lifelong friends. Jerrold was a member of Temple B'Nai Abraham in Elyria, Ohio. He was preceded in death by parents Milton and Minnie (nee Sevel) Winger and in-laws Joseph and Anne (nee Spike) Fishman.
