Jennifer A. Capitano (nee Milin) passed away peacefully Saturday, August 20, 2022, in Akron, Ohio. She was 52 years old. She was born October 8, 1969, in West Allis, Wisconsin, the daughter of Peter and Sandra. She graduated from Spooner High School in Spooner, Wisconsin in 1987, and joined the United States Air Force that same year. After serving in the Air Force, she completed an Associates degree in business from Northern Michigan University, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources from Mount Olive College in North Carolina in 1997. Survivors include her daughters, Emily Capitano and Ashley Capitano, both of Avon, Ohio and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Merkel, and her brother,, Matthew Merkel. Jennifer's greatest joy was her beloved daughters. Whether it was volunteering at their schools, being their Girl Scout troop leader, the hours on the road with baton, drum corps or competitive cheerleading parades and practices, Jennifer devoted her life to her girls. Jennifer's daughters would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wyant Woods Healthcare Center for their never-ending kindness and care to a most courageous mother. Private funeral services will be held at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria. Burial Private.
