Obituary

Jeannine A. Wirscham (nee: Sparks) 80, of Elyria passed away Wednesday May 31, 2023 at Life Care of Elyria following a long illness.  She was born June 23, 1942 in Elyria.  Jeanie had worked for many years at J.C. Penney. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed travel, baking, gardening, reading and dancing.  Survivors include her husband of twenty seven years; James T. Wirscham, three daughters; Julie A. Machock of Elyria, Susan E. Machock-Goss (Heather) of Royal Palm Beach, FL., Michelle J. Logan (Ed) of Elyria, three sons; David W. Machock (Debi) of Elyria, Michael J. Wirscham of Blowing Rock, NC., John T. Wirscham (Alex) of Elyria.  Additional survivors include numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a brother; James Sparks (Jane) of Grafton.  Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents; James and Lola (nee: Long) Sparks, and a brother; Raymond Sparks. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Monday June 5, 2023 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 7:00 PM immediately following visitation. The Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor will officiate.  Burial will be private.  Memorial contributions in Jeanie's memory may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
