Jeanette “Jenny” Crosby (nee: Yosa), 95, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin. Jeanette was born in Elyria on December 29, 1930 to parents Alex and Lena (nee: Kanak) Yosa. She was a proud member of the Elyria High School Class of 1948, and lived a life filled with warmth, creativity, and love for her family. From a young age, she found joy in knitting, a talent she carried with her throughout her life. After retiring, Jeanette cherished traveling with her beloved husband, Chuck, creating memories together wherever their journeys led. She was especially known for her delicious Hungarian pastries, lovingly baked and sharing with family and friends. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, she also found peace and happiness in gardening, surrounding herself with flowers that reflected her gentle spirit and appreciation for life’s simple beauties.
Survivors include her daughters, Christine (Randall) Smith, Barbara (Timothy) Conrad; sons, William (Peggy) Crosby, Gary Crosby; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Charles “Chuck” Crosby, in 2020; her parents, sister, Martha O’Dell; and brother, William Yosa. A private burial took place at LaPorte Cemetery in Carlisle Township. Chaplain Richard Carrell of Suncrest Hospice officiated. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Welcome Nursing Home and Suncrest Hospice for the excellent care they provided for Jeanette.
