Jean Marie Whitesel, (nee-Strickland), 80, of Grafton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday February 18, 2018. She was born December 24, 1937, and lived her entire life in Grafton. She was a long time member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Jean married Adren Whitesel in April 1956 and was a loving wife and homemaker for 53 years. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved caring for and spending time with her 13 grandchildren. Her family was such a blessing to her as she was to all of them. Survivors include her daughters, Lynn (Don) Ody, Debbie (Dan) Seres and Laura (Gary) Denomme all of Grafton; son, Don (Shelly) of Strongsville; grandchildren, Renee, Denise, Kristen, Deanna, Ryan, Steve, Danielle, Melissa, Erika, Brett, Leah and Kylie; great-grandchildren, Malia, Julia, Ella, Hailee, Hannah, Emme, Lauren, Ava, Shannon, Erin, Madilyn, Lyla, Addilyn, Luke and Bryce. She was preceded in death by her husband Adren, granddaughter, Katlin Whitesel, great-grandson, Brayden Matso, parents, Glenn and Hazel Strickland, sister, Faye Whitesel and brother, Robert Strickland. The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday February 22, 2018 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
