Jeanette A. "Jean" Lucia, (nee-Bommer), 80, of Elyria passed away Wednesday at EMH Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born September 25, 1930 in North Ridgeville and was a lifelong Elyria area resident. Jean worked as a executive secretary at the Plastic Components Co. in Elyria for 25 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and enjoyed playing cards, bowling, reading, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Jill (Stewart) Burdorff of Leroy, OH. And Jennifer (Lou) Lockhart of Elyria; son, Jeff Lucia of Grafton; grandchildren, Alex, Tyler, and Corey Burdorff, Jordan Lucia and Emily Lockhart; sister, Kathleen Ransom of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1994, sisters, Alberta Klatik, Coletta Ickes and Leola Horvath and a brother Willard Bommer. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Thomas Hagedor n will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
