Jean M. Cox (nee: Svehla) 90, of Rochester, NY. (formerly of Elyria) passed away Monday April 8, 2019 at Unity Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness. She was born July 31, 1928 in Cleveland, OH. Jean was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Rochester, and was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria. She was a loving and devoted caregiver to her family, and was active in various church ministry groups. Survivors include two daughters; Barbara J. Kubofcik (Steven III) of Solon, OH., Beverly A. Janosky (Mark) of Rochester, NY., a son; Robert J. Cox (Iva) of Mountain View, CA. Additional survivors include three grandchildren; Thomas Janosky, Steven Kubofcik IV and Kathryn Kubofcik, two sisters; Shirley Minahan (Larry) of Westlake, Nancy Paton of Hilton Head, SC. Jean was preceded in death by her husband; Robert Leroy Cox, a daughter; Gayle E. Cox, her parents; John and Mary (nee: Resick)) Svehla, and a sister; Eleanor Kucharik. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday April 15, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church 1140 W. River Rd. N. Elyria, Ohio 44035 where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. Pastor William Mugnolo will officiate.
