Jay Goldsmith Jr. 80, of LaGrange passed away at home on Thursday March 5, 2020 following a long illness. Jay was born December 2, 1939 in Lorain. He had worked as a Shipping Clerk and retired from General Motors. Jay enjoyed time fishing and golfing. Survivors include his wife of sixty one years; Lois E. (nee: Tanner) two daughters; Victoria J. Holmes (John) of Lexington, OH., Constance J. Weichman (Steve) of Lexington, OH., two sons; Jay D. Goldsmith (Shelley) of LaGrange, Jaymes A. Goldsmith (Erin) of Trinity, FL., additional survivors include ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a sister; Jean Louise Dorinski (Eugene) of Elyria. Jay was preceded in death by a son; David J., his parents; Jay Sr. and Florence (nee: Knapp) Goldsmith, a sister; Phyllis Addington (Dick) and two brothers; Albert and Daniel. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Monday March 9, 2020 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 7:00 PM Monday immediately following visitation. Scott Canfield will officiate.
