Jason Scott Renard

Jason Scott Renard, 54, passed peacefully at home on September 2, 2026.

Jason was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the beloved husband of Traci Renard, whom he met while attending Elyria West High School. They were high school sweethearts, and their love grew into a lifetime together, filled with family, memories, laughter, and love.

Jason was a loving father to Caitlin Renard, married to Jay Hollingsworth, and Dennison Renard, fiancé to Sophia Longwell. He was a proud grandfather to Logan Hollingsworth, Savana Hollingsworth, Zahra Moore, Alaiyah Cooper, and Parker Renard, and a loving great-grandfather to Gabriel Johnson.

Family meant everything to Jason. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with his family, and he could never get enough time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The time he spent with them was among the things he treasured most.

Jason was the oldest of his siblings, Angela, Adam, Stephanie, and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Tracie Gene Schneider, who passed away on May 6, 2026, and his brother, Nathan Schneider.

Jason adored his grandpa Anthony Bouldini and his Uncle Dan his mother Tracie’s brother, and held a special place in his heart for them.

Jason had a personality that was impossible to forget. He was an on-the-spot comedian, and you never knew what joke was going to come out of his mouth. His quick wit and sense of humor brought laughter to those around him, and his family and friends will forever remember the unexpected jokes and moments that made them smile.

Jason proudly served in the United States Army, serving as a gunner with 19K10 M1 Armor Crewman. After his military service, he worked as a heavy machine operator mostly working with hazardous waste. He worked for Chemtron throughout the 1990s and early 2000’s, where he made many long-term friendships that continued throughout his life. These friendships were a testament to the kind of person Jason was and the lasting impression he made on those around him.

Jason had many passions and interests. He was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan and loved camping, fishing, and being outdoors. He had a love for all things music and was also a huge lover of history. His interests were reflected in the things he enjoyed collecting, including Popeye the Sailor memorabilia and Army-related items. He especially enjoyed spending time at Jamie’s Flea Market, where he could look for things that caught his eye and add to his collections.

Some friendships become more than friendships, and that was certainly true for Jason and his best friend, Eric Elkins. Eric and his family were considered family to Jason and his family—a bond that went far beyond friendship and was as strong and meaningful as blood.

Jason was a hardworking man who loved deeply, laughed often, and made lasting connections with the people around him. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his quick sense of humor, his love of the outdoors, music, history, the Cleveland Browns, and his many collections and interests.

Most of all, Jason will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the countless memories he created with the people he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but the laughter, stories, and love he gave will remain with his family and friends forever.

Jason was deeply loved, will be greatly missed, and will never be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life for Jason will be held on September 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at: VFW Post 3341  783 Huron Street  Grafton, Ohio 44044

Family and friends are invited to come together to remember Jason, share stories, celebrate his life, and honor the memories he left with all who knew and loved him. Food and cash bar provided.
