Jane M. Daly, better known as "Aunt Jane" by most, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at the age of 102 in her lifelong residence on Diagonal Road in LaGrange. Jane , being a devoted member of St. Mary Parish in Elyria, lived a life guided by faith. After retiring from the former General Industries, she enjoyed spending her free time on numerous golf and bowling leagues, bingo nights with friends, and traveling the world. She also volunteered her time at the Elyria United Polish Club and at the voting booths in Carlisle Township. She truly had done and seen it all. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna (nee-Murphy) Daly, sister, Loretta Daly, brother, Clarence (Jennie) Daly and her two nieces, Patricia Daly and Geri Byrd (nee-Daly). She is survived by her great-nephews, Jim (Ruth) Byrd, Jon (Sharon) Byrd, and great-niece Judi (Tom) Hall.; great-great nephews, James Byrd, Michael Haun and Robert (Sam) Hall; great-great nieces, Ashleigh Byrd, Brittany (Ben) Orasko, Lauren (Ben) Griggs, Alexis (Tyler) Honoshofsky and Randi Baire, along with great-great-great nieces and nephews, all of which she she loved dearly. Jane will be remembered by all for her strong, loving personality and her life motto of "a shot and a beer a day". The family will receive friends Monday 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday September 28, 2021 at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. (Please meet at Church). Christian burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Mary Church Building Fund.
