Jane A. Boreski 91, of Elyria passed away Tuesday October 23, 2012 at EMH Healthcare Center in Elyria. She was a lifelong Elyria resident; and was born on West 13th St. on August 23, 1921 and later moved to West 10th St. to care for her parents; the late Edward and Nellie Boreski. Jane worked from 1949 to 2002 in downtown Elyria as the bookkeeper for Brandau Jewelers (formerly Hildebrand's). She was an original member of Holy Cross Church and was active in the choir. As a young woman, Jane traveled to New York City to study voice. She loved music and appreciated music; listening everyday to her collection of CD's; Italian tenors, Diana Durbin, and classic musicals to name a few. Jane loved to travel by convertible and cruise ship, sending post cards and bringing home souvenirs of Mexico, Alaska, Europe, and Nova Scotia. Until her health made it necessary to live in a nursing home, she was a devoted caregiver to her two cats; Raja and Rani. Jane leaves behind saddened friends and family; including fifteen nieces and nephews, she was a great aunt and great great aunt to many more. In addition to her parents' Jane was preceded in death by her siblings; Walter "Sport" Boreski, Stella Firment both of Elyria and Jessie Webb of Madison, NJ. Funeral Mass 1:30 PM Monday October 29, 2012 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave. Elyria, OH 44035 where the family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until the time of mass. Rev. Fr. Albert Veigas, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Jane's memory can be sent to the St. Agnes Building Fund.
