Obituary

Jamey P. Saxon, 62, of Elyria passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland after a brief battle with cancer. Jamey was born in Elyria, Ohio to Jim and Phyllis Saxon on August 6, 1956. He was a 1975 graduate of Elyria High School and resided in Elyria for most of his life. He worked in construction and as a machinist and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jamey loved the outdoors and was passionate about hunting and fishing. Survivors include his three sons; Zachary, Jeremy, and Anthony; brothers Todd, Mark, and John; mother Phyllis; former wife Nancy (nee Hungerman). He was preceded in death by his father James L. Saxon. Family will receive friends 4 PM until time of service at 7PM Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, where full military honors will be provided by VFW post # 1079. Rev. Fr. John Seabold pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church will officiate. Burial Private. In lieu of flowers family suggests those who wish may make donations in Jamey's name to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources ( Division of Wildlife).
