Jamey P. Saxon, 62, of Elyria passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland after a brief battle with cancer. Jamey was born in Elyria, Ohio to Jim and Phyllis Saxon on August 6, 1956. He was a 1975 graduate of Elyria High School and resided in Elyria for most of his life. He worked in construction and as a machinist and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jamey loved the outdoors and was passionate about hunting and fishing. Survivors include his three sons; Zachary, Jeremy, and Anthony; brothers Todd, Mark, and John; mother Phyllis; former wife Nancy (nee Hungerman). He was preceded in death by his father James L. Saxon. Family will receive friends 4 PM until time of service at 7PM Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, where full military honors will be provided by VFW post # 1079. Rev. Fr. John Seabold pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church will officiate.
