James A. Towns, 90, of Elyria, passed away peacefully in the company of his loved ones on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. He was born on March 9, 1946 in Fairmont, West Virginia to parents, Roy E. and Amy T. (nee: Swisher). James served in the US Army from 1956-1958 in Glen Burnie, Maryland. James married the love of his life, Ethel V. Towns, in 1964. He worked for GM for 31 years and retired in 1987. James enjoyed walking, casinos, deer hunting, shopping and golfing. Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly J. Towns, Deanna L. Sutorius (Sean), Kelly A. Briggs (Mark); grandchildren, Brittney M. Butler (Bill), Marissa E. Briggs (Sara), Colin J. Sutorius, Madison A. Biggs, Kennedy P. Hernandez (Dominick), Delaney A. Towns; great-great grandchildren, Nicholaus J. Butler, Braylon H. Morgan, Gavin L. Morgan, Kaliana S. Morgan, Enzo R. Myers-Briggs; brother, Jerry Towns; Sister, Marlene Knox (Towns). James is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of over 49 years, Ethel V.
