James R. Szczepanski, 50, of Columbia Station passed away Thursday July 7, 2011 at his home following a sudden illness. He was born October 6, 1960 in Berea and was a lifelong Grafton area resident. Jim worked as a self-employed carpenter,was a 1979 Midview High School graduate, and enjoyed gardening and helping family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Rosanne (nee-Lucki); daughters, Jennifer (Pete) Ries of Atlanta, GA. And Anna Szczepanski at home; son, James Szczepanski of Atlanta, GA.; parents, Gene and Jane Szczepanski of Eaton Twp.; brothers, Jay of South Amherst, Jeff, Jon, Joel and Jack all of Grafton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karissa, and a brother, Jeremy. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt.57), Elyria. 322-4626. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Twp..
