James Gaddy Scott Jr. 91, of Elyria passed away Thursday May 30, 2013. He was born March 16, 1922 in Braddock, PA. James served in the South Pacific and Central America during World War II with the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator and on the U.S.S. Trenton. He retired from the U.S. Post Office. James was a member of St. Agnes Church, Holy Name Society, American Legion Post #12, and was a life member of The V.F.W. and AmVets Post#32. Survivors include his wife of nearly sixty five years; Helen J. (nee: Wolf), five daughters; Judith Morehouse (Bill) of Vermilion, Mary Morris (Greg) of Denver, CO., Jennifer Gentry (Dave) of Grafton, Regina Brown (Steve) of Otsego, MN., Rebecca Norris (Mike) of New London, three sons; James (Lynette) of Elyria, John (Jill) of Elyria, Joseph of Wappinger Falls, NY. Additional survivors include twenty nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and three sisters; Noreen "Betty" Justen of Elyria, Evelyn Hintz of North Ridgeville, Nancy Murray of Peterborough, NH. James was preceded in death by his parents James G. Sr. and Wilda P. (nee: Lybarger) Scott, and two sisters; Gladys Werner, and Mary Ellen Bean. Albert Veigas, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp. where V.F.W. Post # 1079 will provide full military honors.
