James L. Mendlik, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday March 10, 2026. He was born July 23, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Jim was a master building contractor, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. H enjoyed working with people, ballroom dancing and spending time around the property.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Patsy; sister, Barbara Carson in Fargo, North Dakota; daughters, Renee Dunnington, Michelle Beam and Jenna Hill; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Jay Todd Mendlik.

Jim was also blessed with many great friends through all his years as a builder, a dancer and a wonderful human being.

The family will receive friends Wednesday March 18, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria, Ohio.

Burial will follow at Ridgehill Memorial Park Amherst Township.
