James L. McIntire, 77, of North Ridgeville , Kelleys Island and Elyria passed away on December 13, 2020. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1960 and Springfield Technical College in 1964. He served in the Air Force as tail gunner and flight simulator instructor from 1960-1965. As an electrician he worked at Abex, and ran his own company called B & B Electrical. He owned Pecks cottages in Vermilion from 1980-1987. He retired from the Avon Lake Ford truck plant in 1999 where he was plant engineering, electrical design engineer, manufacturing engineer of automation and on various launch teams. His interests were golfing, boating, fishing, carpentry, NASCAR, antique cars and vegetable gardening. He was a life member of Marblehead VFW post # 7552, Elyria Amvets post # 32 and Sandusky post # 73 American Legion. He also was a former member of Huron Yacht Club. On Kelleys Island he did volunteer work for the Kelleys Island Historical Association and participated in parades with his 1929 Model A car. Survivors include his wife Sharon Brunell; sister Nora Ruble; sons William (Holly) McIntire of Westlake, and Robert (Tammy) McIntire of Gatesville, TX.; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father John Claude McIntire; mother Sentella McIntire Shaw, and brother Dennis McIntire. Due to COVID there will be no calling hours but a family graveside will be held 1 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 at Resthaven Memory Gardens (Avon), where full military honors will be provided by Amvets post # 32.
