James Anthony Larizza,73, of Elyria, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake following a brief illness. He was born October 11, 1946 in Elyria and was a 1964 graduate of Elyria High School. James proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He worked for Norfolk-Southern railroad as a brakeman for 37 years.. James enjoyed golfing, traveling, the Cleveland Indians and always looked forward to the railroads annual picnic. He was a lifetime member of VFW post # 3341 and a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 28 years Nancy (nee Frame); daughter Lisa (John) of Elyria; son Tony (Rhonda) of Vermilion; step sons Mike (Shawn) Brokos of Sewickley ,PA., Dan (Jessica) Brokos of Capron, VA., John Brokos of Wakes Forest, NC.; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister Diane Willoughby; brother Don Larizza. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anne Larizza (nee DeMarco). Burial Private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
