James Carl Kess 58, of Westlake passed away Sunday September 27, 2020 at University Hospital in Cleveland following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 19, 1962 in Cleveland. He treasured spending time with his family, watching Cleveland Indians baseball, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and boating. James possessed a rare sense of love, kindness, and humility with people that will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of four years; Dana M. (nee: Matthei), two daughters; Lauren Kess, Olivia Kess, a son; Michael Kess. Additional survivors include two sisters; Mary Ruth Gourley, Helene Kess (Dr. Robert Testa), three brothers; Robert (Kathleen), Thomas, David, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. James was preceded in death by his parents; Louis and Anna Ruth (nee: Shirosky) Kess. All services are private.
