James Ronald Judge 88, of Elyria passed away Friday August 23, 2024 at St. Mary of The Woods in Avon. He was born February 14, 1936 in Lorain. James was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lorain, and of The Lawrence Institute of Technology in Detroit where he was a former class president, and a member of the Phi Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He had worked as a sales engineer and retired following forty two years of service. James enjoyed woodworking, clock making, hunting, motocross, golf and scuba diving. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. Survivors include his wife of sixty seven years whom he married on July 13, 1957; Charlette (nee: Long), two sons; James E. of Vermilion, Timothy (Molly) of Oak Harbor, a daughter; Jill Gruen (Robert) of Cincinnati. Additional survivors include his grandchildren; Kelsey Barnes, Michael and Joseph Judge, Robert and Timothy Gruen, and great grandchild; Bryar Peck, a sister; Sandra Ross of Wadsworth, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents; James E. and Gertrude (nee: Doyle) Judge. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday August 30, 2024 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 708 Erie St. Grafton, OH where Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM immediately following visitation. The Reverend Father John P. Seabold, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. The family suggests that memorial contributions in James' memory be sent to the Lupus Foundation Greater Ohio Chapter 12930 Chippewa Rd. Brecksville, OH 44141 in honor of his granddaughter.
