James E. "Jimmy" Billingsley, 17, passed away Thursday September 5, 2013 at his home following a courageous battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Disease. He was born January 10, 1996 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Jimmy was a 2013 Elyria High School graduate and a avid NASCAR racing, Cleveland Browns Football, Los Angles Dodgers Baseball and Supermodified Racing fan. Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Jean Billingsley of Elyria; brothers, Joe (Alison) Billingsley and Stephen Billingsley of Elyria; grandparents, Marie and Melvin Stocking of Wellington, Elaine and Gary Maurer of Wakeman, and Jim and Bonnie Billingsley of Lorain; aunt ; Dee (Gary) Comstock; uncle, Ed (Maureen) McKnight; nephew, Noah James Billingsley; cousin, Meghan McKnight. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leroy McKnight. The family will receive friends Sunday 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 3:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
