James F. "Jim" Dawson, 73 of Elyria passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1946 in Elyria. Jimmy enjoyed old cars, racing stockcars at the Lorain County Speedway where he won once, avid bowler scoring several 300 games and was inducted into the Elyria Bowling Hall of Fame, bowler of the year in 1967, great golfer obtaining several holes-in-one. The family would like to thank Jim's neighbors Cris and John, cousins Wayne Sievert and Bob Thrasher. He is survived by his brother William (Elaine) Dawson of Amherst; cousins Wayne Sievert, Bob Thrasher, nieces and nephews Rachel Gunder and Paul, Patrick and son Bradley, Tracey and Jim, and Michael .
