James T. "Jim" Camp, 78, of LaGrange passed away Thursday January 30, 2014 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange following a brief illness. He was born April 1, 1935 in LaGrange and was a lifelong LaGrange resident. Jim worked at the Ridge Tool Company in Elyria for 32 years, retiring in 1997 as a general foreman. He was a United States Army veteran, formerly a member of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grafton and served on the Lorain County Fair Board for 32 years. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joann (nee-Reising); daughter, Shawna (Greg) Finding of Wakeman; son, Lon Camp of Lakewood; granddaughter, Madyline Finding; sisters, Joann Jenkins and Mary Jane Hazlett both of LaGrange; brother, Jerry Camp of LaGrange. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Mary Camp, sisters, Eva Weber and Rita Downs and a brother, Robert Camp. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 pm. At the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Twp..
