James Maxel Jarrell, 88, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center. He was born August 7 , 1930 in Comfort, WV. James was raised in Boone County, WV. and was a graduate of Sherman High School. He proudly served his Country in the Navy and was Honorably discharged in May 1952. James was a barber at Mouth of Joe's Creek near the big coal river, in Racine, WV. and Jacksonville, FL. He loved working on Bicycles, fishing, collecting all kinds of things, going to the dog track, and an apiarists (Bee Keeper- Making Honey). James lived with his mom Pearl Jarrell at Joe's Creek in Comfort, WV. until her passing, then he moved and lived with his sister Madeline Harrah and nephew Wendell Harrah in Elyria, OH. Survivors include many nieces and nephews in Ohio, Colorado, Arizona, Utah and N. Carolina. Graveside services will be in Amick Cemetery in Comfort, WV. There will be No Visitation or Services in Elyria. Arrangements were entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria, 440-322-4626.
