James F. Jalowiec, 74, of Elyria passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at his residence following a 2 year battle with cancer. He was born September 11, 1945 in Elyria. He was a 1963 graduate of N. Ridgeville High School. James served in the U.S. Naval Reserve aboard the U.S.S. Boston. He was a member of Elyria Evening Lions and was an avid bike rider logging a total of 66,744 miles. The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they showed James and his family. Survivors include his wife of 51 years Louise (nee Wysocki); children Amy (Shawn) Lyle, Roman (Cheryl) Jalowiec, Adam Jalowiec, Jonathan ( Cheryl) Jalowiec; grandchildren Max and Preston Lyle; sisters Sandra (Dave) Doering, Linda (Steve) Patalon, Julie (Tom) Noble; brother Gary Jalowiec; many nieces, nephews, and great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Roman and Bernadine Jalowiec (nee Diederich). Family will receive friends from 2 PM until time of service at 5 PM Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Laubenthal - Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, where full military honors will be provided by VFW post # 1079. Burial Private.
