James Earnest Hyer Jr. 94 of North Ridgeville passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday January 6, 2012. He was born December 23, 1917 in Big Otter, WV. James moved to North Ridgeville in 1957 from Beckley, WV, and retired in 1981 from Ford Motor Co. in Brook Park as a welder. He was a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, and enjoyed hunting, gunsmithing, and was a gun advocate. Survivors include a son; Marshall (Janet) Hyer of North Ridgeville, a sister; Sally Crislip of LaGrange, two brothers; William Hyer of LaGrange, Harold Hyer of Maryland. Additional survivors include three grandchildren; Don, Brenda, Beverly four great grandchildren; Matt, Greg, Luke, Andrea, two great great grandchildren; Danika and Hayvn. James was preceded in death by his wife; Roanna (nee: Tanner) in 2007, his parents; James E. Sr. and Dora (nee: Smith), a sister; Eleanor Young, and two brothers; Charles and Robert Hyer.
