James Ray Hensley 86, of Grafton passed away Sunday October 9, 2022 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born March 27, 1936 in Mingo County, WV.  Ray served in the United States Army, and retired from Midland Steel where he was a tow motor operator.  He was deeply involved in the union, and enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing golf.  Survivors include two daughters; Angie Mitchell and Shauna Hensley, two sons; Jimmy and David Hensley. Additional survivors include twenty grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren two great great grandchildren, five sisters and a brother.  Ray was preceded in death by two daughters; Sarah Lynn Arnold, Morgan Hensley, a son; Randy Hensley, a sister, and four brothers, and his parents; Russell and Ollie (nee: Bryant) Hensley.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM on Thursday October 13, 2022 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 2:00 PM immediately following visitation. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township where V.F.W.
