James W. Hamilton 74, of Amherst passed away at home on Tuesday September 23, 2025.  He was born January 21, 1951 in Tiffin, Ohio. Jim worked as a field supervisor for a trucking company. He treasured spending time with family and friends, hunting and woodworking.  Survivors include his wife of thirty five years; Elaine M. (nee: Kantosky), four sons; Bryan Hamilton, Seth Channing, Shawn Smith (Paula), Jason Smith (Lisa). Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, three sisters; Carol Frederick, Linda DeBold, Sandi Hodges, two brothers; Mike Marks, Tom Marks. Jim was preceded in death by his mother; Helen Austin, and sister; Patricia Hamilton. The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM Sunday September 28, 2025 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626.
