James A. Gough 85, of Sheffield Lake passed away Tuesday March 6, 2012 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph Residential Center in Lorain following a long illness. He was born February 28, 1927 in Cleveland. James served in the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers during World War II. He retired after thirty seven years with General Motors as an engineer. James was a member of Amvets Post #55, V.F.W. Post #86; and enjoyed football, boating, fishing, hunting, golf. Survivors include his wife; Cleo (nee: Voigtlander), a daughter; Terry Green (Kelly) of St. Louis, two sons; Glen of Sheffield Lake, Jeffrey of Marblehead, a sister; Gayle Fondo (Ted) of Hollywood, FL, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Pamela Lewis, and his parents; George and Viola (Scott) Gough. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of services on Monday March 12, 2012 at Amvets Erie Post # 55 530 Abbe Rd. Sheffield Lake, OH. where full military honors will be provided by V.F.W. Post #1079 at 12:00 Noon immediately following visitation. Burial will be private.
