James "Jim" E. Hale 81, of Elyria passed away Thursday May 13, 2021 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a long illness. He was born July 3, 1939 in Cleveland. Jim served in the U.S. Army and was a truck driver until his retirement. He was a member of the Eagles Club and was an avid Browns and Buckeyes fan. Jim also enjoyed playing bingo and scratch off lottery tickets. Survivors include his wife of twenty years; Betty E. (nee: Douglas), his children; Robert Hale (Tricia), Kim Jagusch (Mike), Missie Kaczay (Scott), Brent Holtz. Additional survivors include grandchildren; Branden Kaczay (Hillary), Jason Kaczay (Michelle), Lexi Kaczay, Dakota Holtz, Dominic Hale, Brandon Hale, Isabella and Emily Jagusch, a great granddaughter; Kennedy Kaczay, sisters; Janis Hofmann, Nancy Resinger, Betty Roguez, brothers; Andy, Dennis, Thomas III, John. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; Thomas Sr. and Pauline (nee: Mancinni) Hale, a sister; Margaret Pesta, a brother; Robert, and a dear friend; Jack Claymen. Funeral services are private.
