Jack D. Gray 67. of Elyria passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday December 23, 2013. He was born July 13, 1946 in Jonesboro, TN. Jack served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was awarded a Purple Heart medal. Jack enjoyed spending time with family and friends and golf. Survivors include two daughters; Kim Parry (Johnny), Becky Echeverria both of Arizona, and a son; Jimmy Gray (Sherry) of Utah. Additional survivors include three sisters; Barb Suster of Elyria, Cathy Brown (Rick) of Sheffield Village, Eva Speakman of Leesburg, OH, two brothers; Jerry Gray of Elyria, Wayne Gray (Lora) of Texas, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; Orville and Jean (nee: Griffith) Gray, and a brother; Larry Gray. Funeral services 1:00 PM Friday January 3, 2014 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM. V.F.W. Post # 1079 will provide full military honors at the funeral home.
