Jack Douglas Dunfee, 85, of Elyria passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born June 9 , 1932 in Elyria. Jack and his Wife Marilyn were original members of Church of the Open Door. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading , bowling, helping at flea markets, and he was known as the shuffleboard king , Jack was a people person. Jack proudly served his Country in the Air Force. Survivors include his wife of 65 years Marilyn (nee Walker); daughters Denise (Cory) Stoner of New London, Diane (Gary) Brill of Amherst; sons Richard (Michelle) of Wareham,Mass., Dale (Tamara) of Newnan, Ga.; grandchildren Chad, Rachael, Amber, Jessica, Alana, Jeremiah, Jarod, and Becky; great-grandchildren Mason, Jackson, Leksi, Cameron, and Liam; brother Jerry. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Thursday October 12, 2017 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626., where services will be held 11 AM Friday October 13, 2017. Pastor Bob Wickens of Church of the Open Door will officiate. Burial Resthaven Memory Gardens (Avon), where full military honors will be provided by VFW post # 1079.
