Irene E. "Betty" Worcester (nee Brooks) 87 of Elyria passed away Saturday November 14, 2015 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain following a brief illness. She was born May 26, 1928 in Brilliant, Ohio and was a 1947 graduate of Brilliant High School. Irene was employed by EMH Regional Medical Center as a Secretary. Betty enjoyed bowling for the United Polish Club and the 10 pin aces , she also enjoyed fishing , embroidery and was a die hard Steelers fan. Survivors include her daughter Maureen (Warren) Dargo , grandchildren Colleen Dargo , Richard (Carey) Dargo , great-grandchild Caden Dargo, brother William of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard on October 13, 2015 , and her parents Lawrence and Anna (nee Hardy). Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Tuesday November 17, 2015 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria 440-322-4626, where funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday November 18, 2015. Rev. Chuck Behrens chaplain of the Hospice of the Western Reserve will officiate.
