Homer E. Wilson, 83, of Bluefield, WV. And formerly of Elyria passed away Sunday September 30, 2018 at Charleston Memorial Hospital. He was born May 11, 1935 in Tatesville, KY. And lived in Elyria until moving to Bluefield 2 years ago. Homer worked at the Ford Motor Company for 40 years, served in the United States Army, was a member of the Praise and Worship Church in Elyria and also the Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed playing Gospel Bluegrass music. Survivors include his wife Donna (nee-Fields); daughters, Teresa Provenza, Vickie Reitz, Sue (Jerry) Newell, Carol Phillips and Sandy (Chuck) Graibus; sons, Wiliam (Sherry) Wilson, Roy (Wanda) Barnie, Jason (Kayla) Perdue and Jeremy (Tonya) Perdue; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Jimmy (Brenda) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Marie, daughter, Judy Simons, son, David Morris, sisters, Georgia Hagaman, Zelma Dameron and Bonnie Hardwick and brothers, Houston, Earl, Carl and Roy Wilson. The family will receive friends Friday (today) 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday October 6, 2018 in the funeral home. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, where members of V.F.W. Post 1079 will conduct full military honors.
