Hessie Weese, (nee-Whitaker), 82, of Grafton, passed away Tuesday October 17, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus following a brief illness. She was born December 17, 1940 in Hazard, KY. And was a Grafton resident since 1955. Hessie worked as an inspector at General Electric and was a member of the East Broad Street Church of Christ in Elyria where she enjoyed doing church work. She also enjoyed helping others and working around her home. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Ramey; sons, Bobby (Debra) Gunter, Ron (Donna) Gunter and Billy (Gen) Weese; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and sisters, Pearl, Bertha and Allie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Weese, sisters, Flossie and Janice and brothers, James and Ray. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. Monday at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria. Services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday October 24, 2023 in the funeral home. Pastor Terry Spriestersbach will Officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
